We were honored to receive a 2026 PRO New England Gold Award for our work at Sunset Pier at Marina Bay in Quincy, Massachusetts.
A restaurant rooftop transformed into a destination.
This waterfront rooftop project transformed an exposed outdoor dining area into a more comfortable and versatile destination overlooking Marina Bay.
Three independently controlled zones create flexibility throughout the day.
The three-zone motorized louvered pergola was designed to give the restaurant greater control over sun, shade, and changing New England weather while incorporating lighting, heat, screens, and other comfort features directly into the structure.

For us, this award represents more than the finished pergola. It recognizes the planning, engineering, collaboration, and craftsmanship required to turn a challenging rooftop environment into an outdoor experience guests want to enjoy.

Recognized with a 2026 PRO New England Gold Award for Residential Specialty Exterior, this Weston project demonstrates what can happen when a pergola is treated as part of the home's architecture rather than simply added to the backyard.
Designed around the existing poolside kitchen and fireplace, the motorized louvered pergola creates a defined outdoor living space while maintaining a strong connection between the home, landscape, pool, and surrounding architecture.
The result is exactly what we believe great outdoor design should accomplish: the pergola feels as though it was always meant to be there.

We were honored to receive a 2025 PRO New England Silver Award for Residential Specialty Exterior for this custom residential pergola in Braintree, Massachusetts.
Designed to transform an existing deck into a more functional and inviting extension of the home, the motorized louvered pergola gives the homeowners the flexibility to enjoy sunshine when they want it, shade when they need it, and greater protection from New England's unpredictable weather.
Careful planning, structural integration, and attention to every detail allowed the new system to complement the existing home while creating an entirely new outdoor living experience.
For us, this recognition represents what a thoughtfully designed pergola can accomplish: not simply covering an outdoor space, but completely changing the way a family uses it.

Behind every Distinctive Pergolas project is the experience and hands-on leadership of Michael Egasti.
With a background in civil and environmental engineering and nearly three decades in construction, Michael approaches every pergola as more than an outdoor structure.
He looks at how it will integrate with the home or building, how it will manage water, withstand New England snow and wind loads, accommodate electrical and mechanical components, and perform for years to come.
As co-founder of our family business, Michael remains personally involved—from the initial design and engineering challenges to working alongside our installation team in the field.
In 2025, Michael was honored with the BRAGB PRISM Silver Award for Most Valuable Team Member—a recognition that means a great deal to our family and team.
